The Family Information Service (FIS) holds accurate and up to date information about all Ofsted-registered childcare (including childminders, nurseries, pre-schools, out-of-school clubs and holiday playschemes). They also have information about Leisure Activities, Working with Children and Family Support.

  • : ChildLine is the UK's free, 24-hour helpline for children in distress or danger. Trained volunteer counsellors comfort, advise and protect children and young people who may feel they have nowhere else to turn.

  • : Parental Support - To support parents of school aged children, BANES have produced two guides, 'Useful Information for Families with Children 4-11' and 'Useful Information for Families with Children 11-18'.
  • : 1Big Database is the on-line directory of services, organisations and groups for children and young people aged 0 to 19 and their parents and carers in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), Bristol and South Gloucestershire. A number of local partners have worked together to develop this directory to provide one place where information on services is accessible for children, young people, families and those that work with them.
