      Stefan Madzarevic

      I am currently Interim Head of Aspire Academy, leading teaching and learning, training and management. I have 3 daughters and spend most of my time being a taxi driver! When I have some spare time I follow rugby and still enjoy playing cricket in the summer.

    • Amanda Tapsfield

      Director of Learning for the Primary Centre and Deputy DSL. I began working with children with special needs more than 25 years ago. In those years I have worked across the age-range and specialist provisions before returning now to my first love - primary. I am very proud to lead an amazing team who are totally committed to supporting our pupils overcome the challenges they face and achieve more than they ever believed they could.

      Vicky Tucker

      Director of learning of the Secondary Centre and DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead). I started my current job at Aspire Academy some years ago after time spent in a local secondary school as Director of Post 16. When I am not working with Aspire students I love to travel, ski anywhere where there is good snow and watch football, Leeds United of course! I have a lively dog called Pickles who often takes me for a walk and after all of that exercise and excitement I love to settle down with a good book.

    • Anne Porter

      I have been working as a teacher on the school site for some years, and before that at The Pupil Referral Unit at Julian Road. I mainly teach secondary maths and primary food tech, both subjects which I really enjoy. Out of school I like to keep fit and enjoy running – I have taken part in the Bath half marathon several times. I like a challenge and plan to climb Mount Kilimanjaro this year, but in school, love it when I have helped a child to achieve/learn something new, or when they are able to trust me enough to help them in whatever capacity.

    • Caoimhe Courtney

      English Teacher in Secondary and Middle Leader - responsibility for English across the school since May 2010; in that time I have had the opportunity to help many wonderful young people to improve their Literacy skills. My own practice has been challenged and improved by working in such a diverse environment, and I continue to learn each time I step into the classroom.

      Outside of the classroom, I am an avid reader with a keen interest in photography, crafting and cooking. Spending time with family and friends is high on my agenda and we often go camping together during the summer holidays.

      Teacher of English interventions across the school. In my free time I sing with the Sassparellas, play the piano and travel as much as I can.

    • Nikki Varley

      Teacher of Bats class (year 3 & 4). I have worked in special education for most of my career. At the moment I am working in the Primary Centre with Years 3 and 4. I enjoy working with my colleagues and dealing with challenging behaviour.

      Primary teacher. Paula has worked with Aspire in the primary AP unit last year and brings a wealth of experience to the centre.

      Teacher in Primary Centre. I've just started at Aspire Academy with the youngest children in the school (KS1). I have over 10 years experience working with children with Special Needs and absolutely love my job! In my spare time I love to travel, read and spend time with my new puppy!

      Teacher of PE across the school.
      I enjoy all sports, particularly football and support the greatest team in the world - Newcastle United. I love food but also thankfully enjoy keeping fit and exercising. I also love spending time with my wife and daughter.

    • Tom Ramsden

      Teacher of 'Owls' class (Y5/6) in Primary. I'm a father of two and keen painter/illustrator, reader and mountaineer who also enjoys cycling (my commute up hill to Aspire is a bracing start to the school day). I've enjoyed working with the young people here since September 2015; applying my previous experience of working with primary and secondary students with special educational needs.

    • Adie Hemmings

      HLTA in Primary Centre, responsible for Forest School and Thrive assessments. I have been working at Aspire since 2005 and in the Primary Centre since 2006. I am a Forest School Leader and am currently nearing the completion of my Thrive Practitioner Training.

      HLTA in Primary Centre. I work in Aspire’s primary centre as an HLTA specialising in speech and language difficulties, working alongside the speech & language therapist. I have worked with children facing emotional and behavioural challenges for 14 years – firstly in the outreach service and since 2010 in the primary centre. I enjoy my job, especially working with the children.

      I am working in aspire as a HTA across the whole of the primary centre. I have previously worked at a Nursery in Bristol for 10 years that currently has an outstanding Ofsted rating. I also currently work Saturday mornings as football coach for a Little Kickers franchise which I have been doing for nearly 5 years. In my spare time I enjoy playing in goalkeeper for Downs League football team, cooking for friends and family and exercise daily.

      I am an HLTA in the Secondary Centre. I support learning and behaviour in a number of lessons with years 10 and 11. I also teach Year 10 Public Services and Year 11 Science. Outside of school I enjoy reading and watching sport. I also enjoy the Cinema and spending time with friends.

      Sophie joins us from Welton primary school in September 2018. She is an experienced TA and has settled in to the primary team extremely well.

      TA in Primary Centre. Hi my name is Travis and I have been working at Aspire since September 2015. I love working with the kids here and really enjoy helping them to achieve their highest potential.

      Diana Allez

      Chair of Governors.I was a teacher in a local secondary school for over 35 years before retiring in 2016. During that time I was involved in the academic and pastoral care of students from age 11 to 18. I particularly enjoyed arranging school trips in both the UK and Europe. My interests are skiing, swimming, cooking and gardening.

      Emma has recently joined the team and will bring a wealth of experience. She currently works at Bath Spa University on the teacher trainer programme.

      Since retiring from my job as a Project/Programme Manager I now have time to pursue other interests which include travelling, reading, walking, frequent visits to various theatres, short mat bowls and watching most sport as well as little DIY as I can get away with.

      Retiring from my job as an Assistant Head at a Bath Secondary School, in 2011, I was elected as a BaNES Councillor.As a Councillor I was involved in a campaign to stop the cuts to Children’s Services.I was re elected in 2015 and I’m part of a Scrutiny Panel, ensuring no cuts are planned for frontline services for young people.I enjoy keeping fit and regularly attend Zumba and Body Conditioning classes
